(NHSRCL) The National High Speed Rail Corporation has started casting concrete segments for the 16-km section of the 21-km tunnel being built as part of the bullet train project that will connect Mumbai to Ahmedabad. As many as 76,940 segments will be cast for the stretch between Bandra Kurla Complex and Shilphata. 

Total 16km of length will be covered using three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), while the remaining 5 km will be built using New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM).
